About Emily
I grew up in a family that was focused on healthy eating for as long as I can remember. However, it wasn’t until I was 13 and my younger brother was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes that I began to realize the true importance of what you put into your body. By watching and helping him count carbs, adjust his insulin levels, and seeing how his blood sugar could spike and drop depending on what he ate, I began to realize how important it is to make sure you are eating a balanced diet.
While in my senior year of high school I worked with a nutrition coach that helped me further understand the importance that food plays into our everyday lives. After that, I worked with several fitness and nutrition coaches and began to learn more and more about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I went to school and got an associate degree in culinary arts. I use what I learned in my schooling to come up with creative ways to eat healthy. I couldn’t just eat chicken and rice every day.
After completing my culinary degree, I went on to get a bachelors and master’s degree in communication. Through this schooling, I learned how important communication is between ourselves and others and how it can shape our mindset on so many things. Communication can be extremely important in how we view the world, ourselves, and those closest to us.
Some of my other loves include, snowboarding, boating, reading, being outdoors and staying active, the beach, reading, and my husband.
I look forward to getting to know you and I am excited to help you reach your goals.
