The fitness, nutrition, and personal development industries have one major thing in common, they try to sell you the quick fix. They want you to believe you are one program, 3 tips, and 7 steps away from the body and mind of your dreams.
Most of us know that is not true because we have tried it…. more than once. We would go as far as to say that it is not even the thing most of us are after anyways. Sure, it sounds nice, but things created overnight are often lost overnight. The thing most of us are seeking is lasting change.
Those 3 tips and 7 steps may help you start the shift, but they are usually just “preparing” you for part 2 of their quick-fix program.
As two people who understand that lasting change is not as simple as a few tips and tricks, we have been helping individuals find sustainable ways to change their lives and mentality from the inside to better change the results on the outside.
Who are we?
My passion for the fitness industry has been engrained into my life since I was 14 years old. The minute I picked up my first fitness and nutrition magazine, I knew that it was what I was born to do. I became NASM and ACE certified to understand all parts of fitness and nutrition. I wanted to absorb as much as I could to feel my best and share my passion with others. I have since acquired numerous certifications, including NCI, Oracle applied science, and the Well-Fit mentorship. This passion lifted me from my darkest times and helped me overcome a decade of addiction to drugs and alcohol, which resulted in my sobriety. My sobriety date is November 20th of 2012, and for that, I am eternally grateful. I opened the doors to Key Nutrition in March 2017 and have never looked back. I genuinely want my clients and my team to live healthy lives and understand how food and fitness can change your life for the better. I am not only a fitness addict; I am also a dad to my sweet baby boy Dominic Jensen and a dog dad to my two fur babies, Champion and Chief.
From the first time I offered 1 on 1 mentoring to a young man in an at-risk treatment center, I knew this was what I wanted to do with my life. I saw the way his sense of hope changed by having someone share belief in him and his abilities to change his life. For the past 12 years, I have been helping people change their mindset by digging deeper into the mental programming that so many of us never knew we had permission, and ability, to change. Throughout my experience in the field of addiction recovery, helping court-ordered individuals, couples, and individual counseling and coaching clients, I have learned the power each of us has to create this change. I believe each person is the master of their own destiny and holds power to create the life they deserve and desire. I have been married for 16 years to my wife and continue to learn how to apply all these same tools in my life, marriage, and role as a father to my 3 sons.
